Train to Czech "T" towns-Trebic, Telc, Trebon

Has anyone taken the train from Brno to Trebic and Telc or Telc and Trebon OR all three? How were the connections ? Could you train the entire way? Comments on your favorite "T" town in Czech.

I can't help you directly, but I can suggest you look at the website www.IDOS.cz (the Czech National Rail website), where you can suss out all the connections/timetables. The English option is on the right side of the page and you can customize your search to include Bus and Train options or just one or the other.

As Angela says use www.idos.cz You can use it for trains and also for buses. On these routes buses are cheaper and faster. Based on geography logical would be to go Brno Trebic, Trebic Telc, Telc Trebon. Buses are direct without change. Direct train is only Brno Trebic then it becomes more complicated with changes. You can train all the way but as I said, with changes. Bus would be more practical. I liked Trebon the most. Picturesque. It has a beautiful square. A lot of restaurants with fresh water fish from nearby ponds. We stayed in hotel Bohemia which is on the shore of the pond Svet (means world). We did travel around the World on bicycles. It was 12 km (7 miles). There is a fish restaurant right next to hotel. It is about 10 minutes walk to the square. Telc is very small with picturesque square a two ponds around. I saw Trebic many years ago. Nothing much IMHO but I haven't seen its Jewish neighborhood.

I normally prefer the train too, but in this case you are looking at multiple connections and longer to get there than on the bus. The bus is not so bad, not as nice as the train but it gets you there. We did it just one month ago, from Olomouc to Telc by way of Brno; and also from Telc to Cesky Krumlov. We did not stop in the other T's, but Telc was really special.

The peat bog baths in Trebon were a once in a life time experience. You do need to reserve in advance however.
