train problems in Poland

Received this e-mail from my colleague in Poznan this A.M. about trying to get me tickets to Krakow on a 09:30 train; here it is verbatim:"There is one small problem with train connections. Because of some debts
lot of train were being pulled out from schedule. It means that in this
moment only connection to Krakow at 20th of Mai is at 22:45 at night!!!"
Just wanted all to be prepared and to follow the #1 rule of international travel: be flexible--I rented a car!

Jerry, thank you for passing along this information. I've purchased a rail pass so I'm committed to trains for my trip, but I'll watch schedules more carefully.

Does anyone currently traveling in Poland or just back from Poland have any updated information? I can look at the current RR schedules online, but how full are the trains and how difficult is it to get reservations for the trains that require them?
