Train or car for Munich, Salzburg, Lake Bled, Rovinj?

We are just in the early planning stages for our next trip for June 2013. I'm thinking of spending a few days in Munich, then to Salzburg and surrounding areas, then on to Lake Bled area of Slovenia, then to Rovinj, Croatia. From there we will take a ferry to Venice. The times between locations seem do-able, about 2-3 hours each. But, now I'm trying to figure out if we rent a car, AutoEuope doesn't allow me to rent in Munich and drop in Rovinj. I don't want to rent a car for each area then return it. Could we see these areas by train? How would you recommned we transport for these areas?
Thanks!

Hi Susan and Monte! Nothing easier, trains are pretty straight forward all the way. Check Bahn.com for all your connection times etc. At Bled, the station is Lesce or Bled-Lesce. from the station take a taxi to the lake, it is only a couple of miles. From Ljubljana there are 3 trains from memory to Rovinj, early, middle and late at night. We recommend the Penzion Mayer or Dolinar Tourist Farm in Bled. have fun planning

train or buses are fine. in slovenia buses are easier to use than train. if you really want to rent car you can do that too, all are easy driving places.
