Train/Bus/Car to Cesky Krumlov

I had a perfect travel itinerary thrown into chaos by an Air Italia flight cancellation (at least it is two months before the trip). I am flying into Prague from Rome (originally scheduled to have been direct from Venice much arriving earlier in the day) and arriving at 16:45. I have already booked my room in Cesky Krumlov for that same night - what will be my best option for getting down to CK from Prague airport? Are there evening trains, and if so do the run from the airport? Can anyone comment on the experience of taking a bus or a shuttle from Prague to CK? What about renting a car - what is the road like? Any information would be helpful.

Student Agency bus (studentagency.cz) Costs 7.8 Euro, reserved seats online. Several buses per day, you get in 16:45, so you can take the 19:00 or the 21:00, based on how you feel about your flight. 2'55" to Cesky Krumlov. There are 2 stops in C.K. you can pick the shortest walk to your lodging, let them know how late you are coming in. These buses leave from Na Knizeci, which is outside the Andel Metro stop (the southern of the two exits there). You need bus 100 from the airport, 18 minutes later the end of the route is the Zlicin Metro station, which is the western end of the B (Yellow) Metro, Andel is the 9th stop. Travel from airport to Andel is max less than an hour, based on missing connections by the maximum time. One 32ck ticket will cover this. (or bus 119 to Dejvicka, start A mtro, 4th stop is Mustek, and change to B Metro there for 3 stops to Andel) We took this bus 2 summers ago, round trip, were quite pleased with it. The only thing you will miss will be the scenery at night. Bus has beverages and movies.
It may be too soon for you to book, but their schedule is consistent.

Larry - you are awesome! I've copied and pasted your advice into my working itinerary, and will definitely look at reserving the bus tickets. Thanks! Craig
