Hello,
My husband and I will be in Prague in mid October and we are wondering if anybody can recommend a good and reasonable priced tourist guide in Prague. Also, we were wondering about good places to go to eat. We are a little concern with the language limitation, so any advice for places to eat will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
There are few if any language limitations in Prague.
I'd highly recommend Martina Cermakova, who took a group of us through the Jewish Quarter and the Old Town, then a long ride to Krakow, over two days in June. She knows a lot about the city and Czech history, English is excellent. See http://www.praguetourguides.com/.
Thanks, I will try to contact her. I appreciate it.
My goodness, i didn't offer a suggestion because i couldn't remember her name. We used the same guide a lot of years ago. That photo on her web site was pretty old then. We generally hire a guide for part of a trip when going some place new and we hired her for a couple of days while in the Czech Republic. She was efficient and knowledgeable if not warm and cozy in her attitude. Still she is a known entity and was sufficient enough that if i needed a guide again i would hire her and even recommend her. i have to confess that I am pretty pucjy about service providers and probably too hard in my judgements.
Chez Marcel and Pizzeria Rugantino were probably our two favorite places for meals. I also think the Hotel Hastal has a very good restaurant. Lastly - all of these places are in the Jewish district.
Indian Jewel. One of the best meals I've had anywhere.
