Three Month Europe Trip

I'm taking a three month Europe trip with my boyfriend, starting around September/October with a month long stay in Paris. Both he and I have already been to Europe on previous trips, and although we'll be revisiting our favorites like Florence and Barcelona, we're looking to branch out and try more of Eastern Europe. We don't really know anyone who's been there, and therefore don't really know where to go. We'll definitely do Prague, but can anyone help me out and give me some of their personal favorites?

Thanks!
Kiki

We love Krakow. It is laid back with friendly people and a beautiful market square with every
thing else nearby. It is somewhat cheaper than
western Europe and has some interesting nearby
side trips such as Aushwitz and the salt mines.
I liked it for the history and excellent restaurants while my 24 year old son who was with us one trip loved the night life downtown.

If you're visiting Krakow in Poland, you might also think a bout Zakopane--beautiful mountainous park, and Wroclaw, a charming city much like a smaller version of Krakow without the tourist hordes. Each is within a couple of hours by transit of Krakow.

Just note that October - and later - it starts being cold and sometimes very cold in Easter Europe. You should do Krakow rather early on. You could also start up to St Peterburgh, Tallin, then move down south as winter approaches.
