We are planning a trip to Greece in Sept of next year. Our cruise ends at Santorini and we are wondering if we should extend our stay on that island - from 2 days to 3 or 4. What activities are available? There will be 6 adults - 60ish - love hiking, sightseeing, shopping. Not ones to lay on the beach. What is there to do on Santorini?

Hiking, archaeological ruins, wineries, water sports, caldera/volcano day cruise or sunset cruise, shopping, nightlife, museums, great restaurants.

There are 45 things to do on this "list" - I really enjoyed Santorini and could have
stayed longer than the 3 days I was there.

I found some really great info online regarding hiking from Oia to Thira. It seems to be a pretty moderate hike along the cliff taking about 3-4 hours depending on your speed. I plan on doing it when I go in October :)
Theres lots of posts about doing a sunset cruise out to the Volcano and swimming in the hot springs and taking a mud bath . Sounds fun!
Also going to see the Akrotiri Ruins on the other end of the island apparently they have re-opened after being closed for a few years and its a must see.
