Tag along on a business trip to Warsaw?

I have an opportunity to go with my boyfriend to Warsaw next week (likely Monday-Monday). He's going to be there for work and I can work from there (I work from home here and have the flexibility to adjust my work day and take some vacation time) and do some sightseeing on my own. He'll likely join me at the end of the week but from when we arrive Tuesday afternoon until Friday I'll likely be on my own (which is okay with me).

I popped open my Eastern Europe book and it's obvious RS favors Krakow and a lot of people on here seem to go there instead. I'm interested in exploring the city (museums, buildings, culture, parks) and just taking it in.

I am wondering if it's worth the cost of an airline ticket (about $1k from Boston, 1 stop which isn't bad for Poland) and free hotel and some food too. Oh, and 2 weeks ago we just got back from Italy, Switzerland, Budapest and Prague...too much?!

Go and enjoy. Warsaw really surprised me. I expected ex-communist gloom and acres of dirty grey concrete. Instead, I found Warsaw a lively, wonderful place. Even though the Old Town is completely rebuilt and about as authentic as Disney World, you would never know walking through it's many cobbled lanes and squares. My only regret is that I didn't budget more time for my visit.

Kim,
I think you misunderstand. :)

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth going to Warsaw for 6 nights since I've never been there -- not permission. I've seen there is a lot to see but am wondering if I will get bored. I also looked quickly to see where I could day trip and most places seem far away so am wondering on any input there too.

If you have the time and money, definitely go. I loved Warsaw and would like to return. It is easy to get around and do some research - there may be some worth while day trips to go on since you have 6 days.
