Staying in Nuremberg

My husband and I will be arriving at the Nuremberg airport on an overnight flight from the US. We will be spending 2 weeks traveling the area before joining a group for a Viking tour down the Danube to Budapest. We think we should stay overnight in Nuremberg then go on to Munich by bus or train then rent a car and make a southern loop through Bavaria before getting back to Nuremberg. Where should we stay after getting off the plane for the first night? We're usually tired after overnight flights, and could start the next day. We're healthy , senior, independent, seasoned, travelers and always plan well with RS before we leave.

i think the best hotel value in nurnberg is the derag livinghotel. it is a few blocks from the centre, also a few blocks easy walking from the plarrer station. the plarrer station is one stop from the main train station. you can take the metro from the airport to the plarrer station, or a taxi is not too expensive dircetly to the derag livinghotel. if cost is not an issue, the holiday inn and other nurnberg centre hotels are a very short walk to the train station. nurnberg is a delightful town - be sure to save a day or two for it.

If you choose to go into the city to the train station, there is an Ibis Hotel, where we stayed, a block and a half to the right (on Konigstorgraben) when you exit the station, and there is another Ibis straight ahead a block and a half on Konigstrasse. They are usually reasonably priced.
