four of us are organizing a tour to Turkey and SRM is doing the planning. they advise us that they require the full payment up front (not uncommon), but since we know nothing about them except that they contributed to an RS book - what assurance do we have that when we arrive we will in fact have the bookings we paid for ??

SRM Travel co-authored RS Istanbul Guide Book (wrote it?) and they provided the tour guide (who was excellent) for our RS 14 day Turkey Tour. If you still have questions, perhaps you could e-mail RS headquarters, perhaps the Travel Desk, and ask the same question. If, when, we ever go back to Turkey, if not on a RS tour, I would contact them for help.

Lale was my guide on a Best of Turkey tour last September. She and her husband Tankut own SRM Travel. I found Lale and Tankut (who I met) to be very nice, hard working and honest people. I also met a couple in Cappadocia who were on a tour organized by SRM Travel. They said they were very pleased with their tour. Based on my personal experience, I wouldn't hesitate to use SRM Travel if planning a customized tour of Turkey.
