We've made plans to spend several days in Trogir. From there we need to return to Trieste for our return flight home. Searching the internet, it doesn't look like we can easily get from Split to Trieste. Any suggestions?
A simple search on the internet shows that there is a direct bus operated by the local Eurolines component on this route that leaves around 10pm at night and arrives at 5:30 am.

Also, a google search brought up a thorn tree thread that talks about different possibilities- may not be convenient
I was hoping for something better than a long night-time bus ride.
The trains between Slovenia, and Italy don't connect, so you wind up with a Train - bus - Train situation, which is no fun on that long of a trip, and winds up taking as long as the bus.
There are ferries that leave to from the Split area to the Trieste area (from Venice up through the Slovenian coastal towns). Check those out via google, and see if any work for you.
The other option is car - it's a pretty easy drive, but the one way drop off fees are pricey.
Best of luck!
