We're traveling in June and according to Steve, the ferry service to the islands is "erratic." Seems impossible to travel on a Tuesday. I'm told no advance reservations are possible. So, has anyone had any difficulties getting on a ferry, either by car or by bus? Would love to hear your experiences.

We had no problem getting ferry tickets. We bought them a day or two in advance from ferry kiosks or the local ferry office. They oversell the tickets on the high speed catamarans so get to the dock early if you want a seat.

Hi,
We went from Split to Korcula in Aug and made reservations the day before with no problem. There are a few options. Hated the catamaran though. Crowded and hot, and miserable. I wish we had taken the ferry, though it takes longer.

If you want to take the Ferry, it is limited to specific days of travel...

You can take the Catamarans which run a little more frequently
