Are there many big spiders in Turkey in the summer? Greece had none (only lizards) but even photos of those camel spiders in neighboring Middle Eastern countries just about give me nightmares. Hopefully Turkey leans more towards Greece's lack of wildlife.

Greece has spiders, you just didn't see them.Remeber spiders usually hang outside in summer and come in during the winter.. so the big ones will likely be outside. And did you see the giant cockroaches in Greece, I stepped on some that crunched underfoot, they were like seriously 4 or 5 inches long,, eww, at least they don't bite.
Greece also has scorpians,, guess you didn't see those eithere.
PS Did you know about the giant spiders( cane spiders I think they werer) in Hawaii, I saw a bird caught in ones web on youtube,, yikes, now that is a bit scary even to me..
