Take a drive through the Vipava Valley, near the Italian border in south western Slovenia. The drive is very scenic and there are plenty of wineries scattered throughout the region. In terms of a specific wine, I like the reds from Vipava Valley. Any winery owner can direct you to the wine of your choice. Good luck and happy travels!
