Hi, We will have a car, are driving to Slovenia from the Zell am See, Austria area, then back to the Salzburg area and are planning on 5 or 6 nights in Slovenia late Sept./early Oct. 2013. We are planning on: 2 nights at the Hudi?evec Tourist Farm to visit Predjama Castle, Piran and Ljubljana. We then plan a 4 night stay on/around Lake Bled to visit Ljubljana (if we didn't during our first 2 nights) drive the Vrsic Pass road, day trip to Logarska Dolina and area, Vogel cable car trip and visit Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj and area. Does this sound like a good plan and are we allowing enough time for what we'd like to see? Paul

Hi Paul! We thought you had no concerns? lol Always good to get a second opinion but we would just reiterate what we said on TA. one day for each sounds good. enough time? well more than one day is always a good idea for any place but you can see the main sights in a day. cheers

Hi Greg, Busted! My question should have read: Are 2 bases needed? Can we see everything we'd like to based only in Lake Bled for 5 or 6 nights? Paul

Paul, I personally think Bled is great, but I wouldn't base myself there. Instead I would check out Kobarid. A very beautiful town steeped in WWI history and close to Bovec and a short drive to Tolmin and the wine area. We were there in July of this year and it is fantastic! We stayed in a wonderful Apartment Pri nas....you can't get a better host or a nicer apartment. Juri is very attentive and charming. He had a wonderful fire going each night outside and we enjoyed lively conversations, homemade local desserts (made by his mother) and wine to boot! I can't say enough good things. We loved it and plan on going again and again (we live in Germany). Check it out, you will not be disappointed! http://www.pri-nas.si/ Have a great trip.
