Does anyone know if there is a sleeper train available from Gdansk to Krakow Poland? I'm trying to make reservations for a couchette for 6. I can't find any information online. Our family of 5 is traveling to Poland 12/19-12/30. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.
There is a direct train from Gdansk leaving at 21:05 and arriving to Krakow at 09:58. I would assume that it is a sleeper or at least has some sleeper cars. Found it on Deutsche Bahn website.
I'm sure you have reasons for wanting to take the night train, but the day trains only take about 7 hours instead of 13. The night trains do double duty as cargo trains and stop about every half hour, unhooking and rehooking cars along the way. It might be difficult for children to sleep with all that going on.
Enjoy your trip; Gdansk and Krakow are both beautiful cities and Krakow is especially festive this time of year!
And I am sure it will be even more difficult for adults to sleep.
check polrail.com. trains I've used have been slow and probably will go through Warsaw for a stop.
You might want to do it during the day rather than at night.
