Skyscanner Website for Car Rentals

I have used the Skyscanner website for european airfares and its been great. I haven't used it for car rentals. Does anyone have any experience with them for car rental?
I ask because the rate i'm quoted for a weeks rental in Croatia is about 1/2 what I see from other search engines or even the actual car rental website. It looks like you have to pay for part or all of it to confirm the reservation and i'm worried its too good to be true and it will cost me more somehow. Thanks Erich

I've looked at them, but never booked with them since I'm used to kayak. Run a parallel search down to the final step making sure you've got all the extras and see what happens. Also make sure you're comparing with the same agency since Croatia has some off-the-wall agencies that I wouldn't use simply I know nothing about them. Sixt has a presence in Croatia and they're excellent. One thing to watch out for on kayak is a consolidator called Holiday Autos. Those suckers screwed me once (bad) in Cairo and once (really bad) in the UK - - they won't get the chance to do it again. All/partial payment is standard for consolidators. It's also a practice by some of the lesser agencies and would give me a case of the screaming willies. What that does is lock you in to everwho the consolidator foists you off on or the minor agency you selected. If something is wrong at the counter, you can't walk over to the next outfit and ask them to match the deal - - which they always will. Note: Skyscanner is not a consolidator, just a search engine.

Thanks Ed. I did compare with with expedia and sixt and compared to the skyscanner site for sixt its 1/2 the price, which sounds too good to be true. I think i'm going to try it and hopefully not get burned.
