As a cruise passenger, I will be visiting Istanbul and Kusadasi. My wife and I are not big shoppers while on vacation so we are wondering if we would bet better deals in Kusadasi, or if it is worth it to spend the time fighting the crowds at the Grand Bazarr in Istanbul. Thank you very much
How good are you at bargaining? As I remember the Grand Bazaar, absolutely nothing has a posted price. But I don't know how you could go to Istanbul without visiting it - it's unbelievable. Our guide in Istanbul gave us her shopping tip for the Bazaar: "Go with someone who speaks Turkish, the prices will drop 50%."
turks are good at bargin regardless where you go, they'll work hard to make deals but not crazy. you'll enjoy it in the grand bazzar like you negotiate with any gentelman, they won't harras in any negative way, and late in the afternoon crowd disappears so you'll be fine.
