We (2 adults) will be visiting Istanbul May 17-19 and were wondering if anyone else will also be visiting at that time and would like to share a private guide to tour the main historical/cultural sights in the area. It appears that most guides charge about $300 a day, so we were hoping to form a group of 6 individuals preferably. We are flexible as to which day(s) to tour during the time we will be in Istanbul, as well as somewhat flexible on what sights to see. We are interested in the main/must-see mosques, palaces, etc. We also would like to visit the main bazaar. Before someone responds by saying "you don't need a guide"- I realize we could do this on our own, but it requires more in-depth research and on-the-spot reading, which we would like to avoid. We have done extensive world travel and find that hiring a local guide provides expediency and more insight than going it on your own. However, we are not interested in joining a large group sort of situation. Lastly, we will also be visiting Cappadocia around 3/20-22 and Ephesus towards the end of May so if there is anyone who is interested in sharing a guide in those areas, please respond as well. Aside from Istanbul, our itinerary is still being created, so we are somewhat flexible as to dates to visit the areas outside Istanbul.
Tracy, I came across this while looking for info on Greece and Croatia. SInce you have no replies, maybe repost but put where you want to share a guide, people might stop to look at it when otherwise not. Have fun, Istanbul is great!! Oh and so is Cappa., haven't made it to Ephesus yet but hear it's great too.
