Santorini to Rhodes Ferry-late June

My husband and I will be visiting Santorini in late June and hope to travel to Rhodes from Santorini. I've emailed SkyExpress and they are not offering flights between these islands this summer. The option to fly back to Athens and then to Rhodes seems to be very expensive and time intensive. I read about a ferry that takes approx. 7 hours from Santorni to Rhodes. We are looking to travel on Wednesday, June 27th. Does anyone know if this is possible with the ferry schedule? Are the ferry schedules for June posted yet and if so how do I locate them? Any advice would be wonderful!

There is no ferry scheduled for June 27. In the past this route was 3 days/week, MWF, but so far there's no indication that there will be a Wednesday ferry. You can keep an eye out here for any s: http://www.gtp.gr Timewise it is a lot faster to fly back to Athens for a connecting flight to Rhodes. Pricewise, not so cheap unless you get lucky with a "saver" fare from Olympic Air or Aegean Airlines.

if you have a couple of days extra you can stop by crete. santorini to crete by boat is an easy short sail, and from crete you can get a flight to rhodes pretty easily. and, you get to see crete, a great island!

It takes a minimum of a week with a rental car just to barely scratch the surface of Crete. It's a huge island. FYI-there is a ferry connection to Rhodes from Heraklion, Crete but it takes a long time when you factor in the overnight in a hotel you'd need before you can get the Rhodes ferry. Once you leave Crete the ferry takes from 9-13 hours to reach Rhodes depending on which one you get.
