We are headed to Turkey in a couple of weeks, and will be arriving into and flying out of Sabiha Gokcen airport. I didn't realize it was so far out of town when making the reservations! The 65 Euro transfer by private car is a bit pricey for us...can you recommend a way to get there (with as many specifics as possible please) and back (to Sultanahmet neighborhood) without spending an arm and a leg? Have heard/read there are busses, but can't find specific instructions or current information on them. Thank you!

Jeff, you'll definitely have to do a lot of sleuthing here, but here's a good site. You may have some problems reading in Turkish. http://www.iett.gov.tr/en/main/hatArama/hatsaatleri/Sa-%C4%B0ETT-Otob%C3%BCs-Sefer-Saatleri There are a lot of public transit options but you have to go through some hoops to figure them out. What I would recommend though is that you stay in Kadikoy on the Asian side. It's a great neighborhood, terrific restaurants and market, closer to Sabiha Gokcen, and you can easily hop a ferry back and forth to the Old City (the ferries are used by locals so they are very inexpensive and frequent).
