Russian Tour Guides

Gary, Last June my husband and I used Tatyana Chiurikova's company for a private guide and driver (when needed, such as getting to Catherine's Palace & airport transfers). We were extremely pleased and our guide made the trip. We were in St Petersburg for 7 nights and had 4 1/2 day tours. She operates in St Petersburg only, but I believe that she will put you in touch with someone in Moscow. I started by going to her website and then e-mailing. She helped us by advising what things we would get the most out of by having a guide and what things we could easily do by ourselves. We used Alla tours for St. Pete's. I'm not sure if they do Moscow but I know they now have tours for other Baltic Ports so I'd be surprised if they don't have something for Moscow.

For Moscow we used Dan Petrov www.waytomoscow.com - he was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and very inexpensive St Petersburg - booked Elena Ulko via www.toursbylocals.com but I think she now has her own website http://www.ulkotours.com/ She took us to see Catherine's Palace and did a fantastic job. She was knowledgeable and friendly and a fair price, but not cheap.
