I've booked a one week trip flying in & out of Rhodes. So far, my itinerary looks like this: • 3 days in Ialysos • 3 days in Marmaris • Last night in Rhodes Old Town I would greatly appreciate input on a few questions- 1. Is it worth hiring a car? I've been reading that Lindos is very nice and I'm struggling on whether I should hire a car and stay in a different part of the island.
2. Any suggestions for activities in Marmaris? I've also been looking into taking a day trip to another city – worth the effort? Many thanks!

I went to Lindos by bus from Rhodes. Looks like you're staying in the resort area (cheek-by-jowl hotels) I passed on the way in from the airport, don't remember whether the bus stopped there, but I wasn't impressed with Lindos - way too many tourists clogging the main street, which was lined with souvenir stalls, and the castle/ruins weren't that special. Spend the time in Rhodes Old town.
