Rhodes, Greece

Traveling in July for 2 days in Rhodes. Would appreciate recommendations on a nice place to stay and sights to focus on. Thanks. Laura

We really liked the Attiki Hotel, in the center of old town. You'll probably want to focus on the Knights Quarter and other sights in the old town. We took a bus to Lindos one day but weren't overly impressed by it.

Thanks so much for the reply. I'll check out the hotel. Is the Butterfly Valley area worth a trip?

We didn't go. They are actually moths. Are you planning to rent a car for a day? If so, this would be worth a stop. Where are you going from Rhodes? We enjoyed the nearby tiny islands of Nisyros and Tilos. Too far for day trips but interesting, especially Nisyros, which has an active but not erupting volcano that you can walk around inside, and some lovely little towns.

was there a few years ago for 2 days also. the rhodes town and water front is pretty interesting, and we spent the first day wondering around and swimming. and the 2nd day we took the bus to lindos and it's a full day event as well. the climb up the hill is pretty hard in the heat and so many people make it really crowded. after the hike we went down to the beach just swimming and drinking beers and relax.
