I will have 8hr in Rhodes. I will get there via cruise ship. I would like to avoid the high cost of cruise excursions so is there anyone with ideas as to the cheapest way to see the sights there?

Sandy, the cruise dock is within easy walking distance of the old walled city, maybe 5 minutes (and I have bad knees). Any excursion the cruise line shows for "walled city" can be done on your own plus the souvenir shopping and alfresco dining is all there right there as well.
