Has anyone actually experienced eating at Paprika Restaurant in Budapest, if so what can you tell me about the food and the prices. Is it true the portions are very large in Hungary?

excellant food and service. prices can be expensive but is the same everywhere, portions are large .
Excellent food with grand portions! Very comfortable, casual restaurant. I don't remember exact prices but it was inexpensive by European standards. Our experience was so good we returned another evening for dinner. Oh, be sure to reserve a table- it gets very crowded at night.
We stayed in a Hotel Zara last year steps from the Markt and the pedestrian (tourist ?) street but just off it, one block towards the river is Szerb Grill Kavehaz...Serbian restaurant with a ONE page menu...I always think, the shorter the menu the fresher the food...charming staff, sort of multilingual...Chef explained to us that the speciality that night was "black fish"...which turned out to be delicious mussels..Simple and good...www.kafana.hu
...and i just checked the website myself...same location, same name, but last fall it was good and basic...maybe they have a new publicity person
We just ate there on June 27. We had a great meal, not too pricey, about $75US for the two of us. We each had a starter, entree and shared a plate of pickled vegetables, plus beer and shots of Unicum.
We had a great meal...generous portions but you have the option of getting a smaller portion and paying less. It may be an option only with the appitizers...I can't remember if they did that with the entrees too. We downsized our appetizers and got the regular sized entrees.
It was our favorite meal in Budapest. Have fun!
