Renting vacation house

I'm looking for someone with experience renting a vacation house on Paros, Naxos, or Santorini.
We are 2 couples so we need at least 2 bedrooms and baths. Preferably larger. Can anyone give me advice as to which island would be preferably for couples wanting to relax, stroll to restaurants and markets and do not need constant entertainment. We want to be on the water and would enjoy a pool. Any help would be appreciated.

On Naxos focus your search on St. George Beach. On Paros focus on Parikia. Santorini is a bit trickier. If you want to stay near the water focus on Perissa Beach and Kamari Beach. If you want a view of the caldera focus on Firostefani and Oia to avoid the crowds. If you want some recommendations for Santorini let me know when you plan to be there, which village you've chosen and what your combined total daily room budget will be in euro or dollars.

The house we were looking at in Santorini was in Imeroviglion. We will be going in Oct. of 2010. The weekly rent on that house was $3250 which is a little more than I had planned on. Someone had recommened Paros to us. None of us have ever been to Greece so we are real babes in the woods. Which of the 3 islands would you recommend to spend a relaxing week. Is October a desirable month to travel in Greece? We were thinking we would be avoiding crowds. Thank you for your help

Imerovigli is a great place to relax for a week. Not only will it be quiet there in October but you'll have spectacular views of the sunset as well as into the caldera. The drawback with Imerovigli is that there's so little to see and do there that you'd be spending time getting to one of the other more active villages for some fun and food. If you were to stay in Oia you would be in the most beautiful village, and as long as you are there in early October there will still be lost of restaurants, shops and galleries open.

I agree, $3250 is a lot for a week. I think you can do better. Check out the Aspaki Suites, particularly Endless Blue and Atmospherico. Also have a look at Atrina Houses, Filotera Villas, MyBlue and Ifestio Villas. These properties all offer larger apartment-style accomodations. If you want more recommendations let me know which village and I'll try to come up with some.

You can also ask for a discount based on a week's stay. Chances are good you'll get it.
