Problems with Olympic Airlines?

I've been trying to get information about schedules and fares from Olympic airlines but their website is down - the message says they are working on their server. Does anyone have the inside scoop whether there is anything more to it? It doesn't seem very business-like for an airline's website to be down for any length of time. I've been checking it for the last few weeks and still no luck.

Olympic Airlines was privatized as of the end of September, after years of trying by the government, and it wasn't a very good deal. The new company, Olympic Air, isn't flying nearly as many routes as the old entity (none to North America) and the new airline's website is not yet in English. If you're looking to book flights internal to Greece, or Greece-Europe, try Aegean Air.

All you need to do is go to the new website to see what's available. Yes they are flying to and from New York, and the website is in English as long as you clik on the British flag. Don't worry, my guess is that by next season they'll be offering just as many flights as before.

Thanks for your help. I was obviously using an old favorite to get to their website and instead of directing me to the new one, it just said the server was down.

Terry,

You may want to call the NY office. There are several airlines that fly out of Athens. Among these are Aegean, Turkish, and Olympic.

I had a ticket with them and they flew the flight from Athens to Istanbul with 3 people but several days later the flight was no longer on their schedule. Also, due to these three airlines, the tickets tends to remain cheap even a day or two before.

This is all related to small hops in that region. I do not know about flying these airlines from the States to Europe since I usually find the cheapest and most convenient flights on Iberia.
