hi , Does anyone know of a good company in Prague that provides a "private", english speaking "tour guide" to show us around ,or for how ever long we think it's necessary? thanks in advance.
Hi Jim,
I'll be taking my first trip to Prague next month so I don't have any firsthand experiences with private guides but I've read Ricks Prague 2007 guidebook and here are some guides he recommends in his book: (see attached links)
http://www.prague-guide.info/ These tours are in English (among other languages) and Rick is actually featured on the website so I'm sure this company comes recommended.
Also try:
http://www.praguewalker.com/ and
All these guides/companies are on page 59 of the 2007 Prague book.

We had an AMAZING tour with one of Rick's recommended tour guides, Andrea, from Prague-guide listed in Rick's book. Sarka, the owner of the company can pair you with the best guide for your needs, but Andrea is a local from the town and was so wonderful. We spent the entire day with her. She is well educated and her English was beautiful. We also took the morning walking tour that was a group tour and even though it was good, it didn't compare to the private guide. Her knowledge was WAY above they typical prepared speech. Good luck...You'll LOVE Prague!

thankyou all for your input!!
I will be arriving in Prague on Sept 25 and will be staying a few days. My husband does not yet know if he can join me - but if I am with him or solo - are there any other solo or small groups of travelers that will be there at that time who would be interested in forming a group and hiring a tour guide together? Neither of us have been to Prague before so definitely need an overview type tour and perhaps another more specialized tour.
If you're interested, please let me know...
