I will be going to Prague in June and will be arriving on an 11:50pm Wizz Air flight. No checked bag, but I would imagine we won't be out to the curb until at least 12:15am, if the flight arrives on time. Will be staying at a hotel on the southern edge of the Mala Strana district. What are our options for getting to the hotel at this late hour of the night? I would imagine that the train and tram lines will already be closed at that time. I have heard that taxis in Prague are not a good option. Any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
There are some night trams but the intervals are too long and I am not sure if the buses from the airport go at night. Subway closes at midnight. The best option would be taxi. There is a fixed price 600 or 700 crowns from the airport to the center. You can pay at the booth in the airport hallway.
Bryan The night trams are a possibility. Details at the bottom of the page here http://www.myczechrepublic.com/prague/prague-airport-bus.html Having said that I would probably go for a taxi at that time of night. You're right about the overall reputation of taxis in Prague but there are also some reputable companies. AAA for example have a price calculator showing how much it will cost from the airport to various areas, and you can book on line http://www.aaa-taxi.cz/Prices/ Google will throw up other companies that do transfers if you don't have any luck with AAA.
