I think that looks like a good blueprint ... on your free day, just make sure to wander around a bit and get to the non-touristy backstreets. Also, if you want to see an amazing sunset, check out the floating bar .. almost directly across the river from the castle (Metro: Dejvická, straight out from there to the river, look down ... ) It doesn't look like much, but if you'd like to see the sun set right behind the castle, it's unbeatable.

Just in Prague early May, and surprised about the many tour groups (surprising to me that may seemed Italian or French rather than Asian) crowding the Bridges, Squares, the Palace; expect a line at St. Vitus Cathedral; worth it in my mind. It's free, but a door person lets in groups of about 10-15 at a time. We waited about 30', late morning on a Saturday. There are lots of classical concerts at various churches; we enjoyed one in a cold church with short pieces from Mozart to Dvorak. Keep change in your pocket to use the WC!

Make sure to get up early one day to walk Charles Bridge before the artists set-up and tour groups descend!! I think we did it around 8:30 and we had to bridge to ourselves...it is the only way to really appreciate it!!

Erin, I think you've got a good rough plan and have received great recommendations. The only trivial thing I might add is to allow yourselves to be flexible when you have the free time. If you see something that draws your interest, be spontaneous, check it out. For example: we would have never found the Jewish cemetery or learned about the history without doing that.

Enjoy!
