Becky How about Frances Sherwood's 'The Book of Splendor'? Set in 17th Century Prague and especially the Jewish community. Not fiction but Richard Burton's 'Prague - a cultural and literary history' is very readable. On Berlin I really like Philip Kerr's 'Berlin Noir' trilogy, but they can be grim at points. Alan

I'm reading "A Time of Gifts" by Patrick Leigh Fermor,
a memoir detailing his walking trip through Europe in 1934. His chapter on Prague was poetic.

Not fiction, but I enjoyed "Time's Magpie" by Myla Goldberg. I also read "Prague A Traveller's Literary Companion" ed. Paul Wilson - had a variety of fiction tidbits that featured Prague sites.
