I am planning a trip to prague shortly and would like to know what kind of places it is safe to use credit cards. How about concerts, black light theaters, museums. I already plan to use cash for meals .
I think any place which accepts them. Never had problem.
There are warnings about using credit cards in Prague as fraud is reportedly higher there. I'd say anywhere that the card is processed right in front of you is fine. It's when the card is taken away that they can double charge you out of sight. So be wary at restuarants but the places you mention should all be point-of-sale.
Skip the Blacklight Theatre. Trust me.
Agree[INVALID] anywhere that the credit card is processed in front of you is your best bet. For smaller shops/cafes we just used cash. There are ATMs everywhere.
Agree with Jill....skip the black light theater. It isn't worth the time or the money. Try the Sex Machine Museum, much more interesting and a better bang for your buck!
Thanks Christina, don't mind if we do.
Your question is a good one - we have traveled widely - the only place we've had a problem with a credit card was in Prague at a jewelry store. They put the charge through twice. I caught it right away and Amex corrected it right away.
Use plastic only within your sight and don't sign any duplicates.
