Prague Apartment

My husband and I want to go to Prague in June for a couple of weeks. We would like to stay in an apartment. I have a couple of questions.

First, we enjoy "living" in foreign cities, but don't want to become bored. Is two weeks too long for one city (with day or possibly overnight trips to nearby sites)?

Second, I noticed an apartment rental website (www.prague-apartment.com)in another comment thread and checked out some of their listings. Does anyone have another recommendation or comments on that site?

Thanks!

Hi Susan- Also check-out the expat site, www.expats.cz. You may find expats who travel during the summer wanting to sublet their apartments. If successful, you'll cutout the middleman & save some considerable money. Consider even posting your request.

Prague is a great city with so much to do. Pack along your Rick Steves' & the most recent Lonely Planet & you'll be set. Some easy daytrips include Kutna Hora, Konopiste, Karlstejn, Terezin.

Have a great summer!

How long you want to stay somewhere obviously depends on what you enjoy :) I really like getting to know a place, not just doing the sites, and it sounds from your post as if you do as well. I'd say in that case you can easily spend a couple of weeks in Prague.

I've used Prague-apartment.com ad found they were fine. Another, smaller agency,is accommodation Prague.

The last couple of years I've used them and stayed in this apartment

The apartment itself is fine and I really like the area. Public transport is very good in Prague, and so you can be in the centre quickly, but you are far enough out for eating and drinking places not to be dominated by visitors.

I'm going to be in Prague myself in late May and have booked their apartment in Pojistovny. Can't report on what the apartment is like, as it's my first time there, but the booking process was easy.

Have a good time

Susan, we booked through this site, or at least its equivalent in 2007. http://www.pragueapartments-k.com/apartments.php?pg=5
We stayed in Old Town C23. It had two bathrooms, a full kitchen, one bedroom and then beds in the living room, too. It even had a washing machine. The company was legit and offered other services for a fee which we used (i.e., transportation to and from the train station). We were within walking distance of almost every sight in Prague. Or at least we made everything within walking distance because we couldn't figure out the public transportation! ;)
