We are planning a trip with our 2 college aged children to Prague and Croatia and have about 2 weeks in late July-early August. We were hoping to focus on coastal areas of Croatia and Dubrovnik and Split and were going to spend a few days in Prague or Vienna as the flights are cheaper into those cities. Any advice on itinerary and/or would Prague or Vienna would be best stopover and how to get to Croatia from Prague or Vienna. Thanks for advice,PS

Check out www.whichbudget.com for budget airlines. You can easily get from Vienna or Prague to Split or Dubrovnik via a budget airline, which will save you oodles of time.
I would recommend a sidetrip from Dubrovnik to Mostar if possible. Bosnia has overcome so much since the war, but Mostar and its famous (now rebuilt) bridge became an international symbol of the horrors of the Yugoslavian wars of the 1990's. Seeing it for yourself is an incomparable experience.
