I'm planning a circle through Poland in Jan. from Berlin.(Gdansk, Warsaw, Krakow) I'd hear bus travel recommended in Poland. What about a rental car? I'm primarily interested in Holocaust sites. All recommendations welcome.

I have driven a rental car in Poland; I can recommend
it if you can afford it. Petrol is expensive; so ask for a diesel model. Parking is scarce and costly.
I feel the convenience is worth the cost.
Many Poles will not leave their car on the street
overnight; so be careful where you park at night.
The highways are good for E Europe. Not fast, but
adequate. Not nearly as much highway traffic as in
Europe.
