This might be a two-part question: We are driving to Plitvice Lakes from Rovinj, Croatia on a Friday and arriving sometime in the evening. What Sobes / Hotels do people recommend for basic, clean lodgings that are fairly budget? (under 50 Euro) Also, when driving across from the coast and Rovinj, what route is best to take for additional sightseeing, interesting towns, stops, etc? Thanks!

we stayed at House Samardzic in sept 2009. it was really nice and although i dont recall exact cost i am sure it was not expensive. be sure to see the coliseum in Pula when you are in Istria.

In July 2005 our family of 4 enjoyed a two night stay at Knezevic Guest House just a few minutes outside the park. The lovely people that run it don't speak English but we found it was not a problem at all. We have very fond memories of our stay here and sitting out on the big deck visiting with other guests from across Europe while sipping our slivovitz or should I say trying to sip it! We also enjoyed eating at Licka Kuca in the park. Wonderful food!!

Thanks for the Tips! I made a reservation for 1 night at Knezevic Guest house...45 Euro for two. Still looking for tips on where to visiit on our driving day trip from Rovinj to Plitvice Lakes.... we'll also be drving the next afternoon from Plitvice to Ljubljana...any cool places to stop along the way? Is Zagreb worth stopping by?
