Hi, family of four -two adults, two teens-travelling from Zurich to Prague mid-June 2010. We are on a budget and want to spend most of our week in Prague area with friends-would flying be faster/cheaper then a train? Thanks, posted on West page too.

For flights/fares to Prague from either Zurich or Basel head over to http://www.kayak.com. There is a direct overnight train from Basel to Prague. Departs 9pm arrives at 10:40am. You can check fares at http://www.citynightline.ch

One follow up note:
The ride to Prague from Zurich is a long one. If you're coming back to Zurich to fly out, be aware that Czech trains are not the greatest for staying on schedule. We had that problem this spring. Flew into Zurich to economized airfare and then went straight to Salzburg, then onto Prague. On the ride back to Prague, we had to change trains many times because our original itinerary got trashed by late Czech trains. The trip is, I think, about 10 hours, if on schedule. So, just be aware.
