Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Piran? We hoped to stay at Guest House Max, listed in the RS guidebook, but it is full. We prefer a small hotel or guest house. Friendly staff and a breakfast option are appreciated. Thanks for any advice you can give us.

Hi Christina! There are a number of places to choose from in Piran, the Bevk is one for example: http://www.bevk.si/app_ponudba_en.html The Miracole is another poular choice: http://www.miracolodimare.si/en/ Even though the Hotel Piran is a larger hotel, it has rooms with great sea views, so something to consider. You can also stay away from Piran, like nearby Portoroz for example Casa del Sal http://www.casadelsal.com/contents/view/1/language:eng You will have a great time on the coast. There are also great restaurants in Izola and hiring a bike is a great way to tour the saltpans etc. Cheers
