We have rented a car and would like to stay in a cozy pension 20 - 40 km in a village outside of Prague where our hosts might help us discover the region. Does anyone have suggestions for us? Thank you! Karen

I don't have personal experience with a pension close to Prague. One of the most beautiful country around Prague is IMHO Krivoklatsko (southwest of Prague). So I googled it and found a lot of pensions. One of them would be pension Zilina in small village of Zilina. Right on the edge of the protected area Krivoklatsko, 25 km to Prague Airport, few kilometres to Lany (Czech Camp David). Two famous castles not too far from there: Krivoklat and Karlstejn. The website is in Czech but you can click on translate, btw the translation is not very good. There are of course many other pretty areas around Prague but Krivoklatsko would be my first choice.
