Patmos in the afternoon

We will be arriving in Patmos at 2pm, on a cruise ship. We had planned on touring the Cave the Apocalypse and Monastery of St. John on our own. I discovered yesterday that on Mondays both sites close at 1:30. The cruise ship offers tours, but I was wondering if they would allow independent tourists in while the cruise ship groups were in. I haven't been able to find a way to contact them directly. Has anyone experienced this?

I haven't been to Patmos, but my experience at other sites in Greece and Italy is that you can't count on being allowed in with a tour group as an independent visitor (especially if you're on the cruise ship that sponsors the tour). Hopefully other posters can be more helpful.

It's very unlikely that you would be allowed in as an independent. Closing hours are what they are. If by chance you're trying to save money think your only other possibility would be to find an advertised tour offered by an Patmos travel company, something they can schedule for the afternoon because they're local and have that influence. But if you are just opposed to a group tour I'm afraid you're out of luck.
