We are in Bamburg tonight on a family trip driving thru Franconia to Prauge. We stay at U Tri Bubnu in a few days. Any good options on Parking besides the 30 euro a night outfit they refer to?

Good point. We specifically cleared what countries we would visit at the time of rental. Then I photographed every preexisting mark on the vehicle!

Mike - just a tip for future from an old too-experienced renter. Car rental companies won't necessarily accept your photos as proof of pre-existing damage. They might tell you that there's no proof when the photos were taken. If you find pre-existing damage, your best protection is to make the rental agent note it on the rental agreement. If he won't do that, ask for a different car.

I should have added that the photographs where in addition to marking all affected areas on the acceptance form. Now my wife tells me they gave her a pencil not a pen to mark with and there was no carbon copy. Not my favorite car company; won't use them again. No names here but caveat émpore and check other blogs!
