Would love to hear your thoughts about the following hotels. Thanks! Athens- Hotel Tony Nafplio- Marianna Pension
Monemvasia- Monopati Residence & Apartments
Erin, it would be helpful if we knew your budget range ... Hotel Tony is just outside the Plaka Area... sort of between Thissio & Makrigianni ... but quite handy to Acropolis & New Acropolis Museum reviews seem good, just be sure you don't get street-level rooms (dark). In Nafplio, Marianna is quite nice, up on Acronafplia with view of city and bay... the topmost rooms near the path have fewest steps down - others much lower require quite a climb. I don't know how much of a budget you are one... Pension Eleni isn't as expensive, also up on Acronafplia.
Thanks, Janet. I'm hoping to keep it under 100Eur / night (for 2 people w/ breakfast where possible). We're traveling in April of 2011.
I've stayed at Pension Marianna. It's very nice with great rooms and views. Nice breakfast served on a terrace with a great view. Plus it's at the top of the hill on a pedestrian street so it's quiet. If you are driving there is free parking very close by.
Stayed at Marianna Pension two years ago on a RS tour...fabulous is the first word that comes to mind...short walk to city center, laundry available, breakfast view was super, as was breakfast...would not hesitate to stay there again.
