One afternoon in Hungary late November?

On a river cruise Budapest to Passau but arriving a day early. Plan is first day to check in in Marriott, next morning private guide for 4 hour tour of Budaors, small town where my folks were born plus general sightseeing, check onto boat, Monday morning walking/coach tour of sights with Uniworld but the afternoon has optionals that I am not sure I want to see. You tell me: they are Szentendre village or the Jewish Quarter(but just walking village because building not open as it is a Monday). Terror Museum also not open as it is a Monday. Should I check out Central Market? Steves has the thermal baths as a must see...in November yet? What do you suggest. I think my daughter and I have about 3 hours.

The central market is cool but won't take up a whole afternoon. I like the Jewish quarter but being Jewish it's specifically interesting to me. The baths are nice and relaxing and interesting year round.

Two options. Number One, skip the canned tour and hire a guide and do a 8 hour tour. You will see enough to know if you want to come back some day and experience it properly. Andrew ILLES would be excellent for this. Option Two would be the Market as early in the day as possible, followed by the bath at Gellert. Do you have the evening free? if yes then what ever is at the Opera house followed by a great dinner. I also love Jewish Budapest but to do it right you have to go beyond the tour of District 7. If that interests you let me know and i can give you some ideas. I like Sentence but in your case no. We can help you make an afternoon or a day pretty memorable. What interests you?

Well, Andres Illes is our guide for 4 hours on the Sunday morning. He will spend a bit of time showing us my folks' home town then whatever else we fancy. the canned tour I think is a good overview of the main sights so I won't opt to skip it but can certainly skip szentendre or the jewish quarter trip. I don't fancy putting on a swimsuit even in the summer unless the baths are a must and they will take away the pain on the bottom of my feet :-) Do you highly recommend the market hall if I have already have had time in the Christmas market in the morning?
I think I will do more online research and come back for more advice?

The Market hall is good. We still go back a few times a year. Andrew is pretty outstanding. Tell him I said hello. With Andrew the Jewish tour would be good if that sort of thing interests you. for me its one of the most fascinating aspects of Budapest and central / eastern Europe.
