November In Slovenia

We are booked on a Mediterranean cruise the last week of November, but are planning to travel for three weeks before, most likely to Slovenia, then maybe Austria, etc. We have been to Bled and Ljubljana, but not in November. Has anyone been to Slovenia in November? I realize it will be the onset of winter, and we live mostly in Utah, so cold weather is not a problem. Any suggestions as to lodging, etc.? We would like to see as much of the Julian alps as possible. Thanks, Jim

Hi Jim! Who can tell what the weather will be like in November. 2 years ago the snow came early so it was a white November but last year the snow didnt arrive till late December so it was snow free but still cold obviously. If staying in Bled in November, you will have the pick of any place you want as the off season is very quiet. Same for Ljubljana but obviously there are more business people about. We would recommend the Penzion Mayer, Dolinar Tourist farm or Hisa Sonca Apartment in Bled or the ApartmentsInLjubljana in Ljubljana or the Hostel Celica for something different. The Vrsic Pass may be closed in November so you will need to take the Predel Pass to get to other side of the Alps (Soca Valley) and there is a car train from Most Na Soci back to Bled. Cheers
