Has anyone taking the night train from Istanbul to Ankara in the last year or so? And, if so, your comments about the trip.

Yes, with Rick Steves tour. 2 beds per compartment. Going slowly through the mountains. Winding tracks. Not too much sleep for me but I am a light sleeper. Woke up almost every stop. I took the trip in October 2008 so not exactly last year but maybe or so. Compartment was clean. I have nothing specific to criticize.

Yes, in September. Not the Orient Express for sure
but the bunks were clean and comfortable. Toilets
at end of car - one western, one Turkish.
