Nice clean reasonable hotel in Budapest

Hotel Pest was a nice choice for us. Very near the Opera. I thought the staff was very helpful, the room very clean and spacious. They sometimes have good internet deals available.

I've stayed at the Hotel Pest and its a good choice. I love the location. The K&K Opera across Andrassy from the HOtel Pest I have also stayed at a number of times. They give you a little more for the buck so if the prices are the same go for the K&K, but they are both good and as I said the location is absolutely perfect. If you are interested i can send you a map of the immediate area and distances to points of interest, etc.

I stayed at the Mercure Museum Hotel and was very pleased. The breakfast buffet was excellent (though it tended to run out late in the morning), and the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. There was a complimentary spa, but I never had time to find it. They also had computers in the lounge with free internet. Everything was comfy and clean and the location was pretty good - 15-20 minute walk to the center, and close to tram, metro and bus lines too.

I stayed at the Ibis Budapest Heroes' Square (formerly Hotel Liget). Very nice accommodations and centrally located to Heroe's Square and the subway system. Very good breakfast ion and good restaurant in the evenings. The hotel is located in Pest, in the City Park, the green heart of Budapest - just 10 minutes from downtown - right next to the Zoo, the Széchenyi Spa Bath, the Hereos' Square and famous museums.
