needed tip: SVO (Moscow) to Metro

I'm flying to Moscow tomorrow for the first time, staying with a family through HOFA. Has anyone here experience with taking the train from SVO or a bus to a Metro? The Metro stop I need is Polejaevskaja. I know there are less expensive ways to get around and I prefer to be more adventurous and frugal than sure and expensive.

There is a train that goes straight to the Metro. Apparently it is fast and easy- but I was in Moscow a month before it opened.

I believe that you can ride the train to Belorusskaya, then change to the circular Kol'tsevaya line (line 5). Go one station (Krasno-Prenskaya) and change to the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya (line 7). Get off at your stop Polejaevskaja (also called Polezhaevskaya).

It should take about an hour.

Note- signs and direction on the metro are only in Cyrillic, so make sure to have your guidebook handy to know the actual spelling in their language!

Dear Randy,
I have just seen your message and am replying as I ,too, am going via HOFA to stay with a family in Polejaevskaya. Perhaps the same family;were you with the Nikitina family? Can you give me an overview of what it was like and what the transport was like in to the centre. Thanks in anticipation.Charles McCloy
