Does anyone have a local hotel(not chain) or B&B to recommend (probably on Pest side) under $200 per night? Room needs to have private bath and two beds.

We liked the K&K Opera Hotel and the location it has. It is a small chain of 8-10 hotels. I think that it is in your price range.

Consider the Kalvin House - www.kalvinhouse.hu. It's in Pest close to the metro, the Central Market and Raday u, a street with lively restaurants and pubs, yet far enough away to be quiet. I stayed there in 2004, and my room had private bath and 2 double beds. Website probably lists prices, but also check Rick's guidebook to see if it provides a better rate.

Stayed at a wonderful place a few weeks ago called Kapital Inn B&B with my husband, parents & 2 sisters. One of the nicest B&B's I've stayed at and it was 110E-125E per night. It included a homemade breakfast by the B&B owner, who is a former chef. He was also nice enough to do laundry for us as well as lend us a cell phone when we were in town. The place also had A/C. Best B&B experience ever for me and I've stayed at a few. Great location as well...2 blocks from the Terror Museum.

I've just come home from Budapest. I stayed at easyhotel. It was very good, firstly because it is very cheap, secondly because the rooms are very clean and it is in the centre. I recommend this hotel for everyone. I chose this hotel when I saw this funny video: http://uk.video.yahoo.com/watch/3049615/8703000
