Need Cheap Airline info in Eastern Europe

Hello everyone! My husband and I are planning a trip to Prague, Krakow and Budapest in July 2012. We don't sleep well on overnight trains. What are your recommendations for the best reputable inter regional airlines and cheapest fares for one way travel from Prague to Krakow, and then three days later, from Krakow to Budapest?

There does not appear to be any direct airfare between these cities on the budgets, but I have not done a full search. Connections will involve another city, a long way in the opposite direction. The closest direct link is between Budapest and Krakow by way of Warsaw (via Lot?) At the risk of NOT answering your question, you can get trains between these cities that are NOT overnight, we considered a train from Budapest to Krakow this past summer that ran during the day, think it departed around 7:30-8AM, arrived 12 hours after. But you can get around on bus, the rides are about 6 1/2 hours (or less than two plane rides) and considerably cheaper, as in around $30/seat. Eurolines and Student Agency both run between Prague and Budapest, and Orangeway runs between Budapest and Krakow. I cannot find bus service between Prague and Krakow

Pamela, we had the same dilemma. We traveled in that order, too Prague to Krakow to Budapest last month. There were no direct or cheap flights going in those directions. (And I spent hours researching it.) Of course, you could keep looking because your trip is 9 months away and an airline could always add a route! We didn't sleep well on the night train either. So we took three hour naps at our hotel the morning we arrived. But if you're adamantly against night trains, you'll have to lose a day traveling via day train... I looked into renting a car, but actually, you didn't save a lot of time driving yourself vs taking the train.

As I recall, you can fly between Krakow and Budapest with a change in Warsaw (Lot?), as little s 5 hours or so pending the schedule, but that does not account the 2 hours before the flight, nor transportation (Budapest airport is 45 minutes out of town). If I recall, either German Wings or Wizzair, I forget which, can get you between Budapest and Krakow - but via Dusseldorf, and with a change!
I think someone else may have had a connection via Copenhagen (it's been a year since I researched this). For our money and time, buses made much more sense. We too did not want to take an overnight train. FWIW, the bus route between Krakow and Budapest is direct north through the mountains with spectacular scenery, the train goes way around this back through Czech Republic, one of the reasons it is a much longer trip.

My post may not have been clear regarding the buses. These are daytime routes, no overnights involved.

Thanks guys for your responses. I did find one route through Fare Buzz.com via CSA Czech Airlines, $204 per person one way from Prague to Krakow, a one hour flight. Polish LOT will charge $297 per person. No routes yet from Krakow to Budapest; one possible option is to fly from Krakow to Warsaw, then from Warsaw to Budapest, which may not be worth it.
